Go to application

The robolink W draw-wire robot is used directly on the Passat production line in the VW works in Wolfsburg.
Here, acoustic mass is applied to a plastic component so that it can later be correctly attached to the car by the assembly line worker.

The problem

A very compact and safe robot was sought. Due to its structure, the robolink W is so light that it is declared as a "safe robotic variant" in the safety and risk analysis. This allowed the robot to be installed right next to the production worker without an enclosure.

The solution

The robolink W cable robot with its compact dimensions and light weight grabs the plastic part and brings it to the dispensing station. It then provides the employee with the ready-to-install component on a shelf right next to his workplace on the assembly line.
